A refreshing smoothie with a kick always gets my vote! Lately turmeric (curcuma in some countries) has been appearing everywhere. In lattes, tea, soup and smoothie’s. For good reason, as it boosts many healthy benefits (especially for your skin) and antioxidants. So I gave it a go, along with the massive amount of fresh mint I had in my kitchen. Together, I made this refreshing and light smoothie that is great for warmer days. It really makes you feel like your skin is glowing and your body is waking up. So without further ado, grab your blender and here we go!
To serve 1 (or 2 small glasses)
In your blender:
- About 0.5 cups of frozen pinapple
- A few slices of frozen banana
- About 8 fresh mint leaves (this amount if up to your own preference of mint)
- About 1 inch (1 tbsp) freshly cut ginger
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- Juice of half a lemon
- Handful of fresh spinach
- Juice of 2 oranges
- 0.25 cups water (may need a little more to get blender going)
Blend! Ta da, a great smoothie that has your lemon, ginger, mint and turmeric covered. It is an action packed smoothie, but still is quite light as it isn’t that thick of a smoothie. So perhaps, it is more a heavy juice. Either way, it boosts some great health benefits and great for a detox if you are into that kind of thing. It is a zingy type of drink that leaves you feeling ready for the day!
