I warned you these smoothie recipes would be coming. This one is a must, it is a great way to start the day right. It also helps calm any nausea or hangovers (so I have heard). It also just generally leaves you feeling healthy and like a warrior ready to take on the day. So grab a blender and get blending.
In the blender (for 1 servings)
- Half of a frozen banana
- Half of an avocado without the skin
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1 teaspoon maca powder*
- 0.5 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- About 200ml almond milk (depends on what consistency you like)
Blend until combined and smooth. Viola! It is so refreshing. I find the peppermint extract and banana alone makes it sweet enough, but some people may like it sweeter and add some honey. You could also keep the shake in the freezer and take it out the night before and leave it in the fridge for the next morning. To make 2 servings, just double the recipe above (except the milk).
*My maca powder disclaimer;). Some say maca powder isn’t good while pregnant, others says it does wonders with nausea. I am not a doctor, nor pregnant so I can’t advise. Maca powder is essentially a root plant from South America that is a super food. They say it helps with fertility, hormones and can be an aphrodisiac. It also helps the metabolism and energy levels.
Enjoy your breakfast 🙂
